Moving Off Campus
Moving Off Campus is an innovative site designed to link property owners with students. Taking it way beyond that, Moving Off Campus (MOC) offers such features as image managment, paypal integration, roommate search and subletting, and an internal messaging system.
Our Solution Using Ruby on Rails we created a system for students and property owners to link up:
- XML Feed Parsimg – The MOC system automatically generates property listings for property owners by parsing an XML feed that they provide – no user interaction is required!
- Flash map – The MOC flash map forms the basis for quickly finding the rentals that students are looking for.
- Image Management – Using RMagic property owners can upload building and unit images, as well as floorplans.
- Google Maps – MOC uses Google maps to tell students how far from campus they would be.
- PayPal Integration – Property owners can easily pay invoices via the integrated invoicing system and PayPal.
- LightBox – using the highest quality images gets properties rented, and using LightBox saves screen real estate while giving a great Web 2.0 look and feel.
